Ok just imagine, just for a second: you're in a strange country surrounded by strange people in some old (but nicely remodeled barn) and you sit cinema style in a chair. On the right you have someone you don't know and on the left someone you know even less, and then...

Then two people in fluorescent yellow vests suddenly appear in front of you while pirate music is playing in the background and what do they say?

"Welcome to our ship called: Oldevechte"

It was hilarious especially if you know any marine terminology because they clearly didn't at all...
*insert LOL emoticon*

After that welcome we had a tour over the beautiful terrain around the as they called it the "shiphouse".

When it was time for lunch it wasn't  just time for lunch it was time a piece of heaven on a plate, yeah i know it sounds a bit cheesy and no i am not trying to kiss someones ass i mean it when i say (and I'm not the only one) the soup was (like we say in dutch) an angel pissing on my tongue, IT WAS AMAZING!

After the lunch we were asked to form a circle outside, to make eye contact with someone and pair up with them. Attached to a "stranger" we could walk around and explore the area at our own pace, it was an interesting experience talking, sharing and being with someone that ended up being so different yet so similar at the same time.

When we arrived back in the "barnship" we followed an exercise  that brought us back in touch with ourselves, our location and the people around us and all that without a single word, to be honest it was something to experience words would not do it justice.

Then we were asked to sit down on some comfy mattress-sized pillows while the group leaders all promoted themselves and the participants could choose the group leader they felt the most connected with. I for example felt quickly very connected with the group I ended up with, it seems like we can communicate very nicely and it feels like a comfortable warm place. I can only hope the other participants have the same experience as i do...

After we got connected with our new "families" we (after a beautiful inspiring story about teamwork) got asked to prepare a play in which we would inhabit a national folkhero or fictional character. In just a small amount of time.

Long have we all waited for the next moment: DINNER!!!!
And i don't know how but they did it again, they served us amazing dishes from the italian kitchen.
Pasta, salads and tiramisu awaited our hungry gobble-holes. It was just perfect i can't wait to see what we'll eat tomorrow.

We all took a while to let te food slowly find a place in our bellies as we started finishing the plans for our plays.
Everyone was afraid of what their creation would enfold to be but we would see very soon that every piece was hilarious, creative, beautiful and extremely entertaining.

Today was an amazing day and the first one not to forget! I am so extremely tired because it was a lot i can't explain in words the toll it took but it's completely worth it!
I worked very hard and long on this journal entry and i should've gone to sleep hours ago.

And as i will walk up the stairs through empty hallways, i will hear the soft humming snores escaping from te bedrooms and i will smile while my head will finally find my only true everlasting love:
MY PILLOW!!!

Much love
                  sonni

See you tomorrow ;)
